Compare the complete cost, not one line
For on-site space, consider the space being occupied, the handling work and any equipment or operational constraints. For an external proposal, ask about receiving, the storage period, requested additional work, release and transport.
Use the same quantity and expected duration for the comparison. Do not assume that a low storage rate includes frequent access, item picking or delivery back to your premises. Ask for the scope in writing and clarify any minimum periods or change conditions.
Check the practical fit

- How often will whole pallets or partial quantities leave?
- Which goods must remain immediately accessible?
- What conditions or restrictions apply to the products?
- Who will arrange transport and authorize releases?
Capacity and suitability need confirmation for the actual goods. A general storage description is not evidence that a facility accepts every product or offers every handling service.
